5. Daschund

This lively character was bred to hunt small game and burrowing creatures. which is why you will often find them wedged in the back of the couch or snuggling under the doona.
What they lack in size they make up in mite a.k.a ‘small dog syndrome’, their curiosity proves comic relief as they will surely find themselves in a pickle on the regular.
Dachshunds love games! tug of war is a favourite, this can be included as part of their exercise, walks are still a must as they are disposed to weight game.
With this in mind, hiding treats in toys is a great way to get them working for their food.
4. Oodles Of Poodles

This incredibly intelligent pooch dates back more than 400 years and was located throughout Europe.
Poodles are often hard hearted so early socialisation is vital to ensure they do not become overly protective of you.
They are notorious attention seekers so be prepared… all work and no play sends them crazy. Their chic exterior might have you fooled but these pups like to get their paws dirty exercising on the regular and plenty of activity to keep them stimulated.
Grooming is inevitable with poodles, daily care required or short cuts to avoid matting.
Perfect fit for those who suffer from allergies, poodles have a hypoallergenic coat, you can cuddle to your heart’s content. Ironically they themselves can suffer from allergies, however regular check ups can prevent any serious issues.
Do you have a poodle that’s looking a bit more sheep? Bring them in and we’ll take care of it!
3. German Shepherd // a.k.a German Shedder

This gentle giant originates from Germany and was used to herd flocks.
German shepherds are highly sensitive and will need a whole lotta TLC, if neglected they can suffer from separation anxiety, a family home is often the perfect fit.
Energy levels are sky high with these breeds, so be prepared to keep active as they will require frequent exercise and walks, play dates are a must. Infamous for keeping the peace they love to hang with a furry friend.
Notorious in the canine world as.. the ‘shedder’, they do indeed live up to the name, shedding all year round, however with diligent grooming this pooch will keep tidy.
Big dog issues can include Elbow Dysplasia: This is a heritable condition common to large-breed dogs. This can lead to painful lameness and in some cases require surgery or pain management.
Is your couch looking like a giant German Shepherd? Bring them in and we’ll take care of it! (the shepherd…not the couch)
2. Labrador Retriever

This blonde bombshell originates from England, primarily used as hunting dog but also made great companions for aristocratic families in the early 1900s.
Labs are big dogs and require some room for their big booty swagger. They can shed a great deal so grooming on a regular basis is required. They are packed with personality, crazy ,eccentric, tender and just outright lovable. Though they possess a great deal of energy and loved being walked they can also be your couch potato buddy, just make sure to wear them out with a couple rounds of fetch in the backyard.
The flop side…. Due to these great big adorable ears labs can be prone to ear troubles, this is treatable so don’t fear.
1. Bulldog Mini (Frenchie)

The Frenchie will steal your heart with its indistinguishable face, originating from Leeds in the north of England, this delightful character is the sweetest companion that loves all things hooman. The frenchie is a big boned, smooth coat, active and sharp little pooch.
There are a few drawbacks when it comes to health issues, commonly caused by the way they are bred, the shortened muzzle can cause obstruction to the airways which in turn restricts their breathing. (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome.)
Due to this trait you can be sure never to lose them; snoring, snorting and of course the flatulence lets you know they are close by.
There is one thing all of these dogs have in common – they all need a visit to the groomer to keep them in tip top shape (and they’re all welcome at Oodles of Spoodles).
