1. Control Their Environment
In order to control their environment, you must designate some areas for your puppy that allow them to have their own space, but also understand that there are specific areas that are ok to do things and some that are off limits.
A pen is 1 of many great solutions for this!
2. Puppy Biting
When dealing with play biting, it is important to get their teeth on something that is acceptable to bite. An abundance of treats and only rewarding the behavior you are looking for, is a great way to motivate a puppy!
3. Leave It & Look At Me
Such an essential skill for dogs to learn, you must do this before you can expect your dog to not chase another cat or dog down the street.
4. Stay
Every dog needs to learn how to stay, it is one of the most important skills! You want to master a 1 second Stay before you start walking away, or asking your dog to stay when you see another dog on a walk etc.
5. Come when called
Stay is very important, but so is Come When Called. Keep it happy, keep it engaging and encourage your dog to want to come to you. Start at a nice short distance to make it easy at first.
A happy tone of voice can also encourage your puppy to enjoy this process.
